In August and September 2023, I will present two of my very favourite and popular tarot courses for the WEA. 'A Taste of Tarot' will be presented on Saturday, 19 August, 2023. I have been teaching 'A Taste of Tarot' for WEA for 8 years. For well over a decade, this course has been very well-received by hundreds of their Adult Learners. In 2020, due to student demand 'for more tarot', I developed a complete introduction the to art and craft of tarot reading - 'How to Read Tarot'. This is a course that takes our novice tarot enthusiasts beyond 'A Taste of Tarot's' introduction to the 78 Arcana, and into the exciting and practical art of reading tarot for fun, insight and avocation. 'How to Read Tarot' commences on Saturday 26 August 2023. It will be delivered over 4 consecutive Saturday mornings of 4 hours each, from 9.00am to 1.00pm. For enquiries and enrolments please contact the WEA directly at:

This is a general inquiry through my website and my reply. I have posted this because I believe might be of interest to those who are considering exploring, learning about and practicing tarot. The purpose of this post is to simply explain what I provide to the novice and more experienced practitioner. The inquirer is completely legitimate and will remain totally anonymous. I’m very new to tarot so would love to know more. Thank you." My reply to the Tarot Website Inquiry: July 20, 2023 09:55 (30 minutes ago) "Thank you for your inquiry and welcome to the exciting world of tarot. If this is a brand-new interest for you, I would whole-heartedly recommend you enrol in my full-day, introduction-to-tarot class, 'A Taste of Tarot' which is delivered at the WEA Adult Learning Centre, Angas Street, Adelaide. The next class is on the 19 August. This is a comprehensive intro-to-tarot-class, after which you may then decide if/how/when you can progress with your tarot practice. (This is also a very popular class with tarot beginners and has been running for well over a decade at the WEA). This 4-part course is being delivered over 4 Saturday mornings of 4 hours each, from 26 Aug to 16 Sept at the WEA. The 16hr Course is designed and ideal for the novice tarot reader, for those with a little more tarot practice and experience and, for those readers who 'just feel like reconnecting to and revitalising their tarot knowledge and skills'. "The 16hr 'How to Read Tarot' Course commences with the tarot intro-class, 'A Taste of Tarot' and then flows into interactive reading practice with the Intermediate (reading small spreads) and the Tarot Masterclass (reading complex spreads). The 'How To Read Tarot' course was previously and originally presented as 3 separate and full-day WEA classes. Comprehensive handouts/worksheets are provided. "As my tarot classes and courses are being delivered through the WEA in 2023, please contact the WEA on 82231979 for all further information about class and course fees and enrolments. "Some folks (students/participants) are immediately 'smitten' - the tarot-bug surely bites! With several of the last-year's intermediate (reading 3-cards and small spreads) WEA classes, the enthusiasm was such that we formed a tarot reading practice group at the beginning of this year. For this group I provide prepared tarot reading activities, gentle reading guidance and mentoring at each monthly practice. The group meets on a Thursday night at the Burnside Library. Bookings are necessary and a small fee of $10 payable by those participating in the scheduled monthly practice. Reply continued.. 09:55 (30 minutes ago)
"Another option (which is completely new this year and, as yet, untried) is the casual tarot-and-coffee chat group to be held at the 1818 Cafe, Burnside Library complex. This is an unstructured and general interest meetup for which I will not be preparing discussion activities or mentoring. Perhaps, simply, a general theme to open discussion. It's an adventure! The 'fee' for participating in the meetup is the price of a coffee (and cake, if you choose) to be purchased from the 1818 Cafe prior to joining the group. "I hope this helps and, definitely look forward to seeing you soon! All the best, Martha Adams". Martha Adams © July 2023 Are you interested in Tarot? Tarot has been used over the centuries for developing intuition, wisdom, and inner guidance. It can help to better understand your past, present and future-possibilities; answer questions about love, life, and career; and make wiser decisions. Tarot Coffee & Chat is a new, entirely casual meet-up to be held each Wednesday fortnight at 1pm for an hour or so, commencing on the 2 August, 2023. Conversation will focus and revolve around the interests of those attending on the day. Bring your tarot cards, enthusiasm, and questions for some spontaneous tarot fun!
The 1818 Burnside Café has generously offered to host the meetup. The ‘Fee’ is the purchase price of a coffee or tea (and a cookie or cake if you wish) from the Café on the day. The Zodiac-Tarot readings offer general guidance on what to retain or continue over these months and what to release or give-up.Libra - What to Release/Give-up The Six of Cups suggest pleasant past memories which can buoy rough water. Can make us feel warm and fuzzy, in difficult times. Can give us cause to reflect and draw wisdom from past relationships in which we were given the answers - even though we maybe not even have been so sure of the questions. In this context, however the 6 Cups memories of comfort and satisfaction from past people and circumstances most likely do not hold the answers or solutions to what you are currently seeking. It could be because who you are now a very different person from who you were in the past. As unkind as it may seem even though positive, memories you hold may be serving to only to hinder, inhibit, or block your progress. Traversing new ‘terrain’ requires keen skills of observation and often a new approach that only our own experience can give us. Cups represent our emotions. So use your current instincts, insights and intuitions for arriving at the best ideas, answers and solution you move forward. Coming up next.... Scorpio - Tarot: What to retain and continue ...
The Zodiac-Tarot readings offer general guidance on what to retain or continue over these months and what to release or give-up.What to Retain/Continue - July and August The Six of Swords reversed (6Wr) suggests that, the change of pace, peace and calm you crave, is evading you. It seems that it doesn’t matter how hard you push, or how much energy you devote to moving on to that serene horizon, the tides of reality continue to trap in an emotionally unsettled or unsettling place. The long-reversed wand also suggests that you are running out of energy - the spiritually motivating kind. There is both a strong element of air and water (the mind and the heart) elements that in 'real-life' can make decision-making difficult. It could be that in this little scenario, as they say, 'the devil is often in the detail'. While you continue to push away from emotional trouble with your spiritual and physical 'energies', the six swords - which can represent past mental challenges and experiences - have furnished you with a strong mind (all swords are upright) and possible a strategies for successful action. Rather perceiving the row of swords like a cage that prevents escape and locks you to the shore, the 6 swords, that appear to stuck hard to the little boat could be seen as forming a fence-like structure, offering - like is the purpose of fences - mental and intellectual boundaries. Perhaps experiences of the past victories, griefs, and chaos can be used as a shield that protect your and your family (or male/female/inner child). The Zodiac-Tarot readings offer general guidance on what to retain or continue over these months and what to release or give-up.What to Release/Give-up The Magician I Reversed (M1r) is an imposter; the pseudo-magician, the trickster, the prankster, the great pretender. The topsy-turvy symbols in this image are contrary to their true or upright meaning and purpose, including the integrity, good intentions and spiritual-connectedness of an upright Magician . The wand of manifestation is not raised towards upward but rather towards the ground indicating there is no spiritual connection to what the Magician is 'creating'. The lemniscate sit underneath the upside-down and dangling head and not in a position to receive divine inspiration. The table for manifestation is upside-down and beneath it lie the elemental symbols - cup, pentacle, sword and wand - all inverted, perhaps losing their power; or, introducing the more negative aspects of the elements of their suits. Is someone ‘trying to pull the wool over your eyes’? Or are you presenting falsely? Either way, I'd keep in mind the advice and influence of Justice XI during this period of time. Coming up next.... The Zodiac-Tarot readings offer general guidance on what to retain or continue over these months and what to release or give-up. What To Retain/Continue Justice XI is one of the 4 Virtues in tarot and the message is ‘do no harm’ (Hippocrates). When you receive this card, it entreats you to stay honest and balanced in all your actions, judgements and decisions. It's following the "the straight and narrow”. The sword is a symbol for the mind and thought processes, Straight and upright, the demands are for total honesty and truthfulness. The golden scales indicate the necessity to take a balanced approach, in all dealings. The flowing red cloak is advice to remain grounded (red:first chakra). Justice XI can also indicate legal dealings and contracts; and, to ensure the deal or contract crosses all the t's and dots all the i's and is, basically, squeaky-clean. According to numerology, the number Eleven is a Master number. It is the number of Heaven and Hell - as we know the elemental energies of the swords can swing both ways - victory or defeat. Justice XI is also the archetype for Karma or cause and effect (Braun and Le Chatelier in the 18th century). It describes the law of the universe. the notion that all actions and having consequences - of an equal and opposite reaction. So practice your good intentions and this will be the cause for good karma. The reverse will be met with negative karma. Eventually! Coming up next ... Virgo What to release or give-up
The Zodiac-Tarot readings offer general guidance on what to retain or continue over these months and what to release or give-up.Leo - What To Release/Give-up The Moon XVIII Reversed suggests confusion, deceptions, and negative energies. But this Archetype demands doing the 'hard work' and sticking with efforts that will flush-out the intense and troublesome 'history', so deeply buried in the subconscious. The yabby (crayfish) is foremost (at the top) in the reversed image. Yabbies (are believed to be guardians of the underworld), symbolise luck, abundance, fertility, strength, adaptiveness, and creativity. As the yabby emerges, the insights and clarity it brings to the surface of your consciousness allow you to see the situation or relationship and your feelings about them, clearly, The Yod bring tears with blessings. Chaos lessens as the answers being sought slowly materialise. The Moon is moving closer to the horizon, will set, and no longer eclipse The Sun. As loses its power, and residue any confusion or illusions will slowly diminish and disappear. The XVIII reversed might suggest the submerged dramas that have undermined your efforts are now being released. So, one final push and let them go - forever. The sun will rise tomorrow and shine its warmth on your inner-being. Finish The Moon's release. Return to a position of confidence and clarity. Coming up next .... The Zodiac-Tarot readings offer general guidance on what to retain or continue over these months and what to release or give-up. Leo: What To Retain/Continue The Lovers VI illustrates the basis from which we can make good choices and decisions. VI implies that to overcoming difficulties and uncertainties we need to be honest (with ourselves), communicate clearly and remain open-minded. The Lovers signifies seeking balance, union and harmony - whether its for inner-self, a relationship with another, or both. The Lovers represents the necessity for the whole person being active in making important life choices or decisions. Being complete implies the willingness and ability to express both male and female (yang and yin) qualities and to seek one's own spiritual guidance. Spirit is, allegorically, the Angel positioned in-front of huge and blazing sun. Connection to and with the Angelic (or (whatever you perceive spiritual guidance to be), improves all chances for happiness, love and positive outcomes. The sixth Arcana is a deep and complicated card with many symbols and layers of meaning to consider. Perhaps now is a good time to - Do The Work. Coming up next ... The Zodiac-Tarot readings offer general guidance on what to retain or continue over these months and what to release or give-up.Cancer: What To Release/Give-up The Ten of Wands Reversed (10Wr) suggests a demanding, and personally stressful situation or time. While the figure is 'still moving' there is a sense of s/he is becoming unbalanced; of faltering and failing under the weight of what is being carried. The 10Wr indicates reaching one's personal energetic limitation. Even complete exhaustion. Have others sought to dump their responsibilities or projects on your broad and capable shoulders? You do realise all this 'weight' you carry around has your back almost bent double. The bundle is obscuring your own desires and aspirations and you can't see where you are headed - metaphorically and literally. Everyone has their limits and, as the image suggests, you have most likely reached yours. The implication of 10Wr is that now's the time to stop carrying around other peoples' stuff. recognise they simply need to be responsible. For your own good give it all back to wherever or from whomever it came; or just drop it. Better. You'll be glad of the change in how you feel and the your capacity to refocus those dissipated energies. Coming up next.... Leo - what to retain or continue...
